Joining God is Worth it All
Pray – (1/2 minute)
Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “Then the family heads of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and Levites – everyone whose heart God had moved – prepared to go up and build the house of the lord in Jerusalem. All their neighbors assisted them with articles of silver and gold, with good and livestock, and with valuable gifts, in addition to al the freewill offerings. Moreover, King Cyrus brought out the articles belonging the temple of the Lord, which Nebuchadnezzar had carried away from Jerusalem and had placed in the temple of his god.” (Ezra 1:5-7)
Passage: Galatians 6:7-10
King Cyrus signed the edict. God’s people heard it and a small group of people answered the call to go back to the Promised Land and rebuild the Temple of the Lord. They didn’t know all that they would encounter, but they knew God was with them and He would take care of them as they went. A number of those who stayed in Babylon did participate with their offerings and God even moved Cyrus to release the things that had been taken by the Babylonians years earlier.
God works through people just like you. When He invites you, that invitation doesn’t typically come with a detailed list of everything that will be encountered, but it does come with a guarantee that God will be with you and enable you to do what He has called you to do. His call requires faith, but when you step out and into that call, you will find that the journey is worth it all.
