Our mission at First Kids is to SHARE JESUS with children from birth through 5th grade while teaching them how to LOVE PEOPLE in our community and world.
We want to engage with children and SHARE JESUS with them by developing meaningful relationships, teaching biblical truths, and creating a community to encourage them as they grow. It is our goal to partner with parents and equip them to SHARE JESUS with their own children in their homes.
We aim to show children how to LOVE PEOPLE in our community and around the world by providing missions education, participating in service projects, and equipping them to share their faith with others.

Your kids will be warmly welcomed at our First Kids Check-in area, located on the 1st floor across from the coffee bar. We take your child’s safety very seriously. We have processes in place to give you peace of mind when your child visits. Locked doors secure our hallways, with access granted only with proper identification. Our greeters will assist you with the check-in process.
A snack is provided for children age 2yrs and older. The snack is typically goldfish crackers and water. Allergy Alerts will be posted outside of each classroom’s door if the lesson plans call for a different snack. Please inform your child’s teacher of any allergies during the drop-off process.
Join us for camp this year! Kids camp is designed with your 3rd through 5th grader in mind! Camp is a great way for your child to grow in their faith, make lasting friendships, and build amazing memories, all in a safe and fun environment.

We are praying for you as you point your children toward Jesus through Gospel conversations. As those spiritual moments occur in your home, we have tools to guide you in walking your kids through how to begin a relationship with Jesus and what it looks like.

FIRST KIDS ACADEMY
First Kids Academy is a ministry of First Baptist Church that provides quality early childhood education and care for the community of Grand Prairie and surrounding areas through a stimulating, loving Christian environment and a curriculum of active learning that nurtures the growth of the whole child. Our purpose is to prepare each child for the next level of learning and growing cognitively, emotionally, socially, physically, and spiritually. Our hours are from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday - Friday.
Laura Garrett, minister of children
Laura grew up at FBC. After serving many years as director of our After School & Summer Sonshine programs, she became our Children’s Minister in 2014. Laura is married to Brandon, and they have four children: Ethan, Gavin, Peyton, and Everly.
