God Provides through our Stewardship

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “And the people of any place where survivors may now be living are to provide him with silver and gold, with goods and livestock, and with freewill offerings for the temple of God in Jerusalem.” (Ezra 1:4)
  Passage: Matthew 6:19-33

A preacher told the congregation, “I have good news and bad news about the status our building project. The good news is that we have all the money we need to start the project. The bad news is that it is still in your pockets.” God is the provider for His Kingdom work, but the primary way He provides is through the stewardship of His people. God is the owner of everything in this world. In Psalm 50:10-12, He says, “For every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills. I know every bird in the mountains, and the creatures of the fields are mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world is mine, and all that is in it.”
Stewardship is not because God needs anything. It is for us to help us get our priorities right in putting God first (Deuteronomy 14:23) and to partner with God to provide for the ministry. (2 Corinthians 9:6-15) Giving is not just for somebody. It is God’s plan for everybody. Be a good steward with what God has provided you and watch Him work in wonderful ways!
