Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.” (Mark 13:32-33)
Passage: I Corinthians 9:24-27
Texas Stadium in Irving, Texas, was the home of the Dallas Cowboys for 38 seasons. A unique feature was the partial roof that covered most of the stands, but not the field. (Dallas fans liked to say the stadium had a hole in the roof so God could watch His favorite team.) The stadium took two years and nine months to build. On April 11, 2010, it took 38 seconds to demolish it and turn it into a pile of rubble.
When you believed and received Jesus, you became a child of God forever. The security of eternal life is not earned or deserved, and it cannot be lost. It is guaranteed by the death and resurrection of Jesus and given by grace through faith. (Ephesians 2:8-9) While you cannot lose your salvation, you can lose your influence and reputation. Peter says Satan is like a lion looking for whom he may devour. (1 Peter 1:8) As long as you live on earth, you need to live by conviction and not convenience. Stand firm against the temptations that come and protect your witness. Keep your eyes on Jesus and make it your aim to live for Him and reflect Him each day.
