Pray – (1/2 minute)

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)
          Passage: 2 Thessalonians 3:16-18

A story is told of a businessman who got on a flight and was seated by a young girl, who appeared to be by herself. He didn’t ask why but determined to keep an eye on her to make sure she was okay. During the flight, the plane hit turbulence like he had never experienced. Some people around him started to cry. Others prayed out loud. There was general panic on board, except for this young girl. She sat with her hands folded on her lap and seemed perfectly calm. The plane came through the storm and afterward, the businessman told the girl, “You are the bravest girl I’ve ever seen. How did you stay so calm?” She replied, “My daddy is the pilot. He’s taking me home.”
