JESUS is Alive! - The Resurrection Changed Everything

Pray – (1/2 minute)

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.” (Mark 16:8)
          Passage: Philippians 3:7-16

          The resurrection of Jesus changed everything. When the women set out on Sunday morning to go to tomb where Jesus was placed, they went with sadness and hopelessness. Their walk was slow and their expectation was low. They went wondering how they would be able to find anyone to move the stone from the entrance. When they arrived they found out that they didn’t have to move the stone. It was already rolled away. They didn’t have to anoint Jesus’ body. He was gone and they were first to hear the news, “He is risen!” They were given an assignment to go tell the disciples the news and they were given an expectation of seeing Jesus alive. Though they had some fear, they obeyed and they left the tomb different than when they came. They had a new experience and were filled with joy, hope and life. They had new energy and ran back instead of walking. They had new expectation and looked forward to seeing Jesus.
          Jesus is alive and when you believe His promises and live for His purposes, you will find the Spirit giving you what He gave the women that day. A now experience of a daily relationship with Christ. A next expectation that God is always at work and will use you to impact your world. A new energy to serve Him with joy and excitement. Thank God for the resurrection. Jesus is alive!
