THE TRANSFORMING GOSPEL - Bound Together in Christ

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:26-28)
          Passage: Psalm 34:1-10

          We live in a world where a lot of attention is given to appearances. Because of that, plastic surgery is big business, with Americans spending over 26 billion dollars on it each year. In society, some think transformation can come through government edicts. The problem with both of those personally and societally is that they don’t change the hearts of people. They deal with the outside of people, but they don’t change the inside of people.

There is only one way to truly transform a person or society. It is through the transforming power of the gospel. Paul speaks of that transformation in Galatians when he tells us that everyone who has faith in Jesus is a child of God. It doesn’t matter what a person’s family background, ethnicity, social-economic condition is. It’d doesn’t matter if the person is male of female. That concept was foreign to every culture in Paul’s day and it is foreign to the thoughts of the world today. The gospel transforms individual lives and the gospel can transform society. Thank God for the transformation He has made in you.
