Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your body.”
(1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
   Passage: Psalm 1:1-8

Fanny Crosby was one of the most prolific hymn writers in history. Born in 1820, she was blinded for life as an baby when a physician, who was called to look at her eyes, ended up  administering the wrong medication. Though blind, she came to faith as a child, and saw the light of Jesus and His glory in her heart. God gifted her with an ability to write poetry, which translated into the writing of hymns. In her lifetime, she wrote over 8,000 hymns and gospel songs. Toward the end of her life, she shared the following, “I have not for a moment in more than eighty-five years felt a spark of resentment against him (the doctor), because I have always believed...that the good Lord...by this means consecrated me to the work that I am still permitted to do.”
One of her well-loved hymns is “I am Thine O, Lord”. One verse conveys the sentiment of that quote.
Consecrate me now, to thy service, Lord
By thy power and grace, divine.
Let my soul look up, with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in thine.
God has gifted you for service in His Kingdom. Fanny Crosby used her gifts. God wants you to use your gifts as well.
