Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “Simon Peter asked Him, ‘Lord, where are you going?’ Jesus replied, ‘Where I am going, you cannot follow now, but you will follow me later.’ Peter asked, ‘Lord, why can’t I follow you? I will lay down my life for you.’ Then Jesus answered, ‘Will you really lay down your life for me? I tell you the truth, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times!’ ” (John 13:36-38)
          Passage: Psalm 37:25-40

Graduation is always an exciting time for both the graduates and their parents, but it can also come with mixed emotions and anxieties. The excitement comes with the celebration of the completion of the degree. The mixed emotions and anxieties come from transition that they know is ahead and the changes it will bring. On the night before His crucifixion, Jesus gathered his disciples in an upper room. He had predicted His death and His resurrection, but they didn’t comprehend it. The main thing they heard was the prediction of His death, that it would be His last Passover meal and that he was leaving.

We live in a world filled with transitions and uncertainties. In the midst of it all, there is one thing God wants His family to know. The definitive thing to know; the definitive foundation to base life on is this. Jesus is Lord and His Word is the definitive and authoritative guide for life. Jesus explained this after Peter questioned where He was going and He gave His disciples the definitive word about who He is and what He gives. You can rest on Him and in Him. He is the way, the truth and the life. Thank God for that.
