Expect the Blessing by FAith

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “After a long time, in the third year, the word of the Lord came to Elijah: ‘Go and present yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain on the land. . . . And Elijah said to Ahab, ‘Go, eat and drink, for there is the sound of a heavy rain.” (1 Kings 18:1, 41)
Passage: Hebrews 11:1-6
Elijah didn’t hear thunder in the distance. He didn’t see dark clouds on the horizon. There was no physical indication that rain was about to fall after three and a half years of drought, but he confidently stated that he heard the sound of rain. He did hear it with through his flesh. He heard the blessing of rain by faith as three things came together. First, there was God’s call telling him that it would rain. Second, upon the victory on Mt. Carmel when the people saw the mighty power of God, he heard the people confess “the Lord – He is God!” (1 Kings 18:39) Third, he oversaw the cleansing from idolatry as the prophets of Baal were executed.
There will be dry times in your life when things are difficult. In those times, you need to hear sound of a coming blessing and expect it by faith. God loves you and He has promises in His Word to let you know He wants to bless you. In the same way the Israelite people confessed the Lord, Jehovah, is the only God, you need to confess Jesus and seek Him first. Put away anything that distracts you from following His purposes and plans for you and let Him work in your life. Let the blessings fall.
