     Passage: Colossians 3:12-17

Life is busy. If you are in school, you’re busy. If you have children, you’re busy with your work schedule and then, you’re busy with all the activities of your kids. If you are a grandparent, you’re busy with the activities of your grandkids on top of all the other things you do. One thing is certain. Within your busy schedule, you will make time for the things that you are truly devoted to.
When the Holy Spirit came down on the day of Pentecost to permanently dwell within the lives of believers in Jesus, the church was born. Those believers just naturally (or we can say, supernaturally), began to express the DNA of the Spirit through what they did. Acts 2:42 says they were devoted to those things. Devotion means to “be busily engaged”. One of the key things they were engaged in was building relationships with each other. They cared for each other. They spent time together. Their devotion was rooted in their relationship with Jesus as the authority for their lives and they lived out their love for Him, by loving one another in the family of God.
