Jesus is Incomparable in His Power

      Passage: Colossians 1:15-20

        In 2009, the Pew Research Center conducted a survey regarding the belief in God among scientists and the general public. In that particular survey, 41% of the scientists said they do not believe in God or a higher power. It’s hard for me to fathom how that many brilliant minds could be that foolish. All of creation points to a Creator and the human body is exhibit A. At the moment you were conceived, you had all the DNA you have today. If your DNA could be stretched out end to end, it would stretch around 67 billion miles, which could go to the moon and back 150,000 times. Yet, it would all fit on one tablespoon.
       The Apostle John points out that Jesus is the Creator and Sustainer of all things. He was not created by God. He is God. When He took on human flesh and walked on earth, His miracles attested to His identity as God. The winds and waves obeyed Him. Demons obeyed Him. Diseases were subject to Him. As you go through this Christmas season, look around and reflect on the wonder of creation and the change Jesus brings to anyone who confesses Him as Lord. He is incomparable in His power. He is the Word of God, and the Word is Christmas.
