(2 Thessalonians 2:14)
  Passage: 1 John 3:1-3

A man got a call from his doctor after getting his check-up. The doctor said, “I’ve got bad news and worse news.” The man said, “What’s the bad news?” The doctor replied, “Your check-up showed that you only have two days to live.” In shock, the man responded, “What could be worse news than that?” The doctor answered, “I’ve been trying to call you with the news since yesterday.” None of us knows how much time we have left on this earth. Physical death is a reality of life. God wired us for life and when death comes to someone we love or we face our own impending death, grief is normal and a part of God’s design.
Salvation doesn’t stop grief, but it does bring comfort and gives us the hope that is beyond anything this world can offer. While we live on earth, we have to deal with all the things that the curse of sin brought into the world – death, sickness, pain, uncertainty, difficult circumstances, hurtful people and more. Heaven will not have any of that, because there will be no sin or curse of sin there. Salvation means that you will be saved from the presence of sin and you will share in the glory of Jesus. Be thankful that you are saved!
