Passage: Psalm 148:1-14
Today is the best day of your life. On the outside, it may not look like it, or it might. You may not feel like it is, or you might. However, today is the only day you have right now. Assuming you will wake up tomorrow, it will become your today. Therefore, don’t worry about tomorrow. Focus on today. Today is the day to count your blessings. The song written by Johnson Oatman nearly 130 years ago is a song for today.
When upon life’s billows, you are tempest tossed. Do not be discouraged, thinking all is lost.
Count your many blessings, name them one by one. And it will surprised you what the Lord has done.
When you look at others with their lands and gold, think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold.
Count your many blessings, money cannot buy. Your reward in heaven, nor your Lord on high.
So amid the conflict, whether great of small, do not be discouraged, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend. Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.
Chorus: Count your blessings, name them one by one; Count your blessings, see what God hath done;
Count your blessings, name them one by one: Count your many blessings, see what God hath done.
