Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the. Fire, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?” (Matthew 6:28-30)
     Passage: James 1:16-17

Corinth was a city in Asia Minor that was economically prosperous and politically important in the Roman Empire. As such, many of the believers were prosperous as well, which was different than most of the churches in the first century. Their prosperity led them to have an attitude that they were somehow better than others and there were also more self-centered and less prone to give. Paul addressed that attitude when he wrote, “For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?” (1 Corinthians 4:7)

Everything you have is a gift from God. He made you and gave you the capacity to learn, to work, and do all the things that have enable you to buy whatever you have. And the things you didn’t buy, He gave you those through the gifts of others. As you count your blessings, acknowledge the source of your blessings. Thank God for the food you eat, for the clothes you wear, for the bed you sleep in, for the air you breathe and more. Be thankful for you are blessed.
