     Passage: Psalm 4:1-8

When the Holy Spirit came to dwell permanently within the lives of believers, the church, which is the Body of Christ, was born. The DNA of the Spirit within the individual believers was present within the life of the church as well. Acts 2:42-47 gives us a picture of how the DNA was manifest in the life of the early church. They worshiped. They built relationships. They also lived with generosity.

Generosity comes from the nature of God in you. His generosity is simple, sincere and sharing. In the simplest verse of the Bible, we read, “God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son. . .” Love can be spelled G-I-V-E. You can give without loving, but you can’t love without giving. The gift of Jesus, God the Son, giving Himself is the greatest example of generosity there will ever be with the greatest result being the payment for sin and the gift of eternal life to anyone who will believe in Jesus. Serving generously with time, talent and treasure does not make you a Christian, but as a child of God, with His Spirit in you, it should be your testimony as a Christian. Have a generous heart for Him.
