DNA - We Worship God

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. . . . Every day they continued to meet together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” (Acts 2:42-47)
     Passage: Psalm 1:1-6

The DNA of your mother and father set features and traits in your life from the way you look to personality traits and more. When you believed in Jesus as Lord and received Him as Savior, you were born again spiritually through His Holy Spirit coming to dwell in you. Your body is a temple for Spirit and the church is a temple for the Spirit dwelling in the children of God. His Spirit has planted a new nature in you that gives you the power to live the way God designed for you to live and for you to fulfill His purposes for your life.

The main purpose the Spirit wants you to fulfill is worship. Worship is acknowledging God’s worth and expressing your love to Him. When Jesus was asked what is the greatest commandment, He replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind.” (Matthew 22:37) The Apostles and first believers who were part of the early church showed the attitude and actions that come from the Spirit having control in their lives and in their church. Many believers and churches miss out on the blessing and fruitfulness they could have if they let the Spirit rule in their lives and in their churches. Let Him have His way in you.
