Let His Spirit Reign in You

Pray – (1/2 minute)

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your body.”
(1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
          Passage: Psalm 139:13-16

         A temple is a place dedicated to God. Paul tells us that your body is a temple for the Holy Spirit. You received the Spirit when you personally believed in Jesus and confessed Him as Lord. At that exact moment, you were born again and became a child of God. You received a new nature. Your sin nature was reckoned as crucified on the cross. It will not go into eternity with you. That’s why you can enter heaven. You have the nature of Christ in you. His perfect life is credited to your eternal account.
        The big issue is not whether you will go to heaven if you are a believer. The issue is how you will live on earth as a believer in preparation for heaven. That old flesh nature, while dead to eternity, is still very active right now. It will always seek to pull you away from the things of God, but your new nature, that DNA of the Spirit will work mightily when you walk by faith and seek to live by God’s Word. God loves you and wants to use you to glorify His name and help build His Kingdom. The choice is yours, but the only choice that will give true meaning and fulfillment and build eternal reward is to live for Christ. Let His Spirit have reign in your life.
