Acknowledge Jesus is Lord

Pray – (1/2 minute)

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “Now Ahaziah had fallen through the lattice of his upper room in Samaria and injured himself. So he sent messengers, saying to them, ‘Go and consult Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron, to see if I will recover from this injury.’ But the angel of the Lord said to Elijah the Tishbite, ‘Go up and meet the messengers of the king of Samaria and ask them, ‘Is it because there is not God in Israel that you are going off to consult Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron?’ Therefore, this is what the Lord says: ‘You will not leave the bed you are lying on. You will certainly die?’ ”

      Passage: John 8:21-30

        Ahaziah had followed the example of his parents, Ahab and Jezebel, but he couldn’t blame them for his own sin. He was accountable for his own actions before God. When he fell through the lattice, which may have covered a window or been like a sun roof, he was severely injured. It was one final opportunity for him to turn to God, but he didn’t do that. He sought an answer from the false god, Baal. Elijah met his servants and gave the final word of judgement from God.  
       Psalm 14:1 says, “The fool says in his heart there is no God.” But there is! He loves us and has provided the way for anyone to have his or her sin forgiven and spend eternity in heaven. Jesus is the exclusive way to have a relationship with God. The offer of salvation is inclusive of anyone who admits their sin and believes and confesses Him as Lord. When you have Jesus within you, God can use you to make a great impact in your world.
