Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “ ‘Who are you, Lord?’ Saul asked. ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,’ He replied. ‘Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.’ ” (Acts 9:5-6)
Passage: Philippians 3:7-14
A man was walking by a marble quarry when he noticed two men working near each other. One man had a sour look on his face and worked with little energy. The other had a smile and was putting a lot of effort into his work. He stopped and asked each man, “What are you doing?” The first replied, “I’m just busting rocks all day.” The second replied, “I’m helping to build a Cathedral!” Seeing a purpose in whatever you do will effect the attitude and commitment with which you do it.
When Saul encountered Jesus on that road to Damascus, his life was changed forever. Instead of having a purpose to destroy the spread of the gospel, he spent the rest of his life with a purpose to advance the gospel throughout the world. One of the keys to a faithful walk in Christ is having a conviction of God’s purposes for your life. His overall purpose is for you to glorify Him and work with Him to build His Kingdom. You carry that purpose into every place you go from your home, to work, to school, to your community and beyond. God has set you in places where you can make a difference in the life of others and impact the world. Live on purpose for His purposes and you will walk faithfully with Him.
