They came to Him, clasped His feet and worshiped Him. Then Jesus said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.’ ” (Matthew 25:20-21)
Passage: Matthew 28:16-20
There is an old fable that pictures Jesus arriving in heaven after completing His work on earth. The angels gathered and asked what His plan was to let the world know how His death and resurrection provided the way for anyone to have forgiveness of sin and eternal life in heaven. Jesus said that He gave the assignment to a group of people to go spread the good news and to have every generation do the same thing. The angels, knowing how fickle mankind is, asked Jesus what plan B was in case one generation quit passing on the gospel. Jesus replied, “I have no plan B. People telling people is my plan.”
That plan was laid out at the tomb when the angel told the women to tell the disciples that Jesus had risen. It was affirmed by Jesus Himself, when He met the women and instruction them to tell the disciples to go to Galilee, where they would see Him. Those women were given a task to be involved in God’s plan and you and I have the same blessing now. Nothing will satisfy you more than being a part of God’s work in this world. That plan was heard in front of the empty tomb. It is still being heard today.
