     Passage: Matthew 11:1-6

Not long after Jesus began His public ministry, John the Baptist was arrested by King Herod. He knew he was born and called to be the forerunner of the Messiah and he had pointed to Jesus as the One. While he was sitting in that cold, dingy prison cell by himself, he sent a few of his disciples, who had remained with him, to ask Jesus is He was truly the promised Messiah. Jesus sent back word for them to tell John what you see and hear, how the blind see, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, deaf hear, dead are raised and the gospel is preached to the poor. All of those are works that were predicted for the Messiah to do and Jesus was doing them.
One key to staying in tune with God is looking at the works He has done in the past and is doing in the present. There will always be times when one’s present circumstances may cause some static in the exercise of one’s faith, but taking a look at what God has done is vital to getting a clear signal back. Jesus is always at work, and He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Tune in by looking at the works of God around you and for you. Be assured. God will keep working to build His Kingdom and He wants to use you as He does it.
