JESUS is Alive! - Listen and Believe His Promises

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “ ‘Don’t be alarmed’, he said, ‘You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid hHim. But go, tell His disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see Him, just as He told you.’ ” (Mark 16:6-7)

Charles Shulz created the comic strip “Peanuts”, with its beloved boy Charlie Brown. In the made for TV special holiday cartoons, there was usually a scene where Charlie and the kids were in their schoolroom, with the teacher giving a lesson. Instead of words, Shulz portrayed how the children were hearing their teacher and it sounded like “Wa, wa, wa, wa, wa”. They hear a voice, but they weren’t listening to understand. I think that’s a good illustration of how the disciples heard but didn’t pay attention to what Jesus said on the night before he was crucified.
After He instituted the Lord’s Supper, Jesus took His eleven disciples (Judas had left) and went to the Mount of Olives. Either there or on the way, He first told them that they would all run away and then He said, “But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.” It went in one ear and out the other. If they had really listened and believed, they would have been waiting by the tomb for the resurrection. However, after He was raised, they saw the proof that He was alive and then they listened and believed. God has given you promises in His Word about salvation, security, supply for your needs and more. The resurrection guarantees that every promise is true. Listen and believe and live!
