Passage: John 3:16-21
On July 16, 1969, Apollo 11 landed on the moon. Neil Armstrong, followed by Buzz Aldrin were the first two men in history to step foot on the surface of the moon. Over the next three years, the Apollo program would send another six missions to the moon and all landed except Apollo 13, which had to return to earth before landing. Over the course of the Apollo program, 12 men walked on the moon and around 400,000 people were part of the program. The results of the Apollo program are indisputable, and yet one survey as recent as 2021 found that 12% of Americans don’t believe that anyone walked on the moon and 17% said they were unsure.
Christmas is Christ - Mass, a worship of Christ. That Christmas is the celebration of the coming of Jesus, when God the Son became a person, just like us with the exception that He was not born of a human father and therefore, was born without a sin nature. He is the Word of God who came to pay the penalty for our sin and provide the way anyone can have a relationship with God and eternal life in heaven. Who He is and what He did are indisputable facts, but the majority of people in the world to not believe those facts. As you celebrate the birth of Jesus this week, thank God for His grace to enable you to believe and receive Christ. Worship Him and have a Merry Christmas!
