Passage: 2 Corinthians 12:7-10
Perhaps you’ve heard this story. A man prayed, “Dear Lord, so far today, I haven’t said anything I shouldn’t have said. I haven’t done anything wrong. I haven’t gotten grumpy or frustrated, upset with other drivers on the road or with anyone at work. But in a few minutes, I’m going to get out of bed and from that point on, I’m going to need your help the rest of the day.”
You don’t know what will happen and what you will encounter every day, but you can be sure that there will be things that will occur that will be unexpected and frustrating. A Quiet Time helps prepare you for whatever you will encounter. God’s grace is sufficient for helping you deal with life’s challenges. Think of your life as a car. Grace is the gas for the tank. Every day, you drive a lot of miles. If your spiritual tank only gets filled on Sunday, you’ll be driving on empty in your own strength. God’s grace, like His mercy is new every morning. (Lamentations 3:22-23) Determine to have a Quiet Time each day and let God will your tank with fresh grace for the day.
