   Passage: Exodus 33:7-11

In my lifetime, there have been twelve different Presidents of the United States. When George W. Bush was Governor of Texas, I met him after I led an opening prayer for the state legislature. He invited me, my family and our two guests into his office. It was a memorable visit for us, but I’m sure it wasn’t that memorable for him. It also was not a one on one, private meeting.    Chances are that you have not had a private meeting with a sitting President, much less had a daily private call with one. Yet, the Creator of the Universe; the Sovereign God who King of king’s and Lord of lord’s invites you to have private time with Him and talk to Him every day as a friend.
God spent time with Moses as a friend. Joshua, who was with Moses, saw the way that personal time with God effected Moses and when Moses left the meeting tent where He spent time alone with God, Joshua stayed at that tent and had his own private time with God. In John 15:15, Jesus said He calls us His friends. God is not a respecter of persons. He wants to spend time with you as much as He did with Moses and as much as Jesus spent with His chosen disciples. Thank God for the privilege of spending time with God and determine to do it each day.
