Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “The master commended the dishonest manager because he had acted shrewdly. . .. I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings. Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. So, if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?” (Luke 16:8-11)
Passage: 2 Corinthians 9:7-11
One principle for investing for retirement in life is to think long term. Keep adding to solid funds regularly and let them grow through the years. God wants us to look much farther and to understand that the investments we make in His Kingdom will pay dividends of blessing now and for all eternity. One blessing is the commendation of God for being a good manager of the time, talent and treasures He gives you. What a blessing it will be to hear God say, “Well done, good and faithful servant!”
Another blessing will be the appreciation that you will hear from others who came to know Jesus through your gifts or where believers who were blessed by them. Finally, there is the blessing of progression in spiritual growth and maturity. Jesus said that those who are faithful in handling earthly things will be entrusted with handling the true riches of spiritual things. Determine to manage money well by God’s design and believe expectantly for the blessings He will give. You will never out-give God!
