Bless Others Willingly

Pray – (1/2 minutes)

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “The manager said to himself, ‘What shall I do now? My master is taking away my job. I’m not strong enough to dig, and I’m ashamed to beg- I know what I’ll do so that, when I lose my job here, people will welcome me into their houses.’ So he called in each of his master’s debtors. He asked the first, ‘How much do you owe my master?’ ‘Eight hundred gallons of olive oil,’ he replied. The manager told him, ‘Take your bill, sit down quickly, and make it four hundred.” (Luke 16:3-7)
   Passage: Acts 20:32-35 

         In His parable of the unjust steward, Jesus described the plan the man put together after his wasteful management was discovered and he was called to give account. He curried favor with the master’s debtors by slashing the invoices on what they owed. Jesus wasn’t saying the manager was right. He was simply pointing out a principle that God for being a good steward. God wants us to use our treasures, our time and our talents to be a blessing to others.
        In the world, there is a natural understanding that things done to benefit someone else will bring back a benefit in return. The difference for the believer is that the good you do for others is to be done in the name of Jesus for His glory and the testimony and growth of His Kingdom. True wealth is not found in what you hold in your hands. It is in the people you have in your heart. Bless others willingly with what you have. God will bless you!
