Keep Developing Socially

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “And Jesus increased . . . in favor . . . with man . . .” (Luke 2:52)
   Passage: Ephesians 4:29-32

       You were designed by God for relationship. First, God wants you to have a relationship with Him. God loves you and He wants you to love Him back. Second, God wants you to have relationship with others. You were made to love and to be loved. When Jesus was asked to identify the greatest commandment, He put two passages together from Deuteronomy 6:5 and Leviticus 19:18, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” (Matthew 22:37-40)
     Jesus loved people. He enjoyed relationships and He came to save everyone. The Pharisees thought they were putting Him down when they called Him a “friend of sinners”. I think Jesus loved that they recognized that. Someone wrote, “I went out to find a friend, and could not find one there. I went out to be a friend and friends were everywhere.” Making friends is one of the most powerful ways to ultimately witness for Christ. It also is one of the most powerful ways to give you receive encouragement and support in your own life for as you give friendship to others, you will receive friendship back. Keep developing socially and be a friend like Jesus.
