Be thankful - “SAVED, SAVED, SAVED”
Pray – (1/2 minute)
Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “Jesus said to him, ‘Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.’ ” (Luke 19:9-10)
Passage: Psalm 9:7-11
When Jesus went through Jericho, no one would have thought He would ever go the house of a tax collector named Zacchaeus, but He did. No one would have thought that He would give eternal salvation to Zacchaeus, but He did. When He was criticized, Jesus gave the clearest reason for why He left the glory of heaven to come to earth. It was to do for us, what we couldn’t do for ourselves. He came to save.
Of all the things you have to be thankful for this Thanksgiving, God’s gift of salvation through your faith in Jesus and confession of Him as Lord is the greatest. Without it, nothing else that you do in this world will matter in eternity. Many believers seem to forget how great is the salvation God gives, because they do not understand the totality of what salvation means. It is not simply the forgiveness of sin and a future in heaven. It is something you received in the past; something that is active in the present; and something you will enjoy in the future for all eternity. Thank God that you are saved, saved, saved!
