     Passage: Psalm 8:1-9

Shortly before He ascended to heaven, Jesus gathered His eleven disciples and gave them a commission to make disciples, coming from every nations, or ethnic group in the world. A disciple is a person who follows in the steps of Jesus, who walks in His ways and seeks to live by faith instead of by feelings of the flesh. One of the key things the Spirit of God wants in your life and in your church is for you to be committed to being a disciple and for your church to have a commitment to make disciples.

Discipleship is a challenge because your sin nature opposes the purposes of God for you to glorify Him in your life and to work with Him to build His Kingdom. You can meet that challenge, but of the Spirit of Christ in you. He will give you all the grace you need and the power to make the choice of discipleship. God won’t force you to do it, but it is the only way you will find true fulfillment in life and be all that God designed you to be.
