Proceed when God says Go

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “After a long time, in the third year, the word of the Lord came to Elijah: ‘Go and present yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain on the land.’ So Elijah went to present himself to Ahab.” (1 Kings 18:1-2)
Passage: Acts 16:6-10
Elijah knew God was going to bring an end to the drought. He just didn’t know when. By faith, he was patient and he waited for God to tell him it was time for the next phase in the revival to begin. When that time came after three and a half years, Elijah was ready and set off to confront Ahab. Elijah’s experience is one that is repeated over and over for God’s people. God gives a vision and then, there is often a waiting period between when the vision for a project is cast and when it gets underway.
There are certainly times when God said go to His people, but their lack of faith prevented them from doing so. One was in the wilderness with Moses after the spies returned with their report. Ten spies affirmed how good the land was, but then told the people that the inhabitants of the land were too bid and numerous for them to conquer. Joshua and Caleb pleaded with the people to believe God and follow Moses into the land, but the people rebelled and refused to go. The discipline for that refusal was another 39 years of wandering in the wilderness. Finally, that time of discipline came to an end and God said go and they went into the Promised Land under the leadership of Joshua after Moses died. Don’t miss out on what God is doing. Be patient and always be ready for the time He says go. Then proceed by faith and watch Him do great things.
