Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “After Jesus said this, He looked toward heaven and prayed: ‘Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. . . . I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.’ ” (John 17:1, 4)
      Passage: Matthew 22:26-40

An old fable pictures Jesus being greeted in heaven after He had ascended following His death, resurrection and 40 days of appearing to his disciples. The angels marveled at the love He showed and the sacrifice He made. They asked how He was going to let the world know what He had done for them so they could have eternal life in heaven. Jesus answered, “I have told my disciples to tell others and for those who believe to tell others.” One angel, knowing how unreliable people are, asked, “What if one generation stops telling others? What is your plan then?” Jesus replied, “I have no other plan. People telling people is my plan.”

One of the main reasons many churches are declining and others are disbanding is that they have stopped telling others about Jesus. Acts records how the church expanded by following God’s plan and purpose, which is to glorify God and work with Him to build His kingdom. Acts 29 is written by believers who know why they are here and they are passionate to join God in His work. They love God and they love people. Period. God created you on purpose and for His purposes. Be a living example and help your church write your part of Acts 29 for His glory.
