Pray Consistently

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “Then they returned to Jerusalem from the hill called the Mount of Olives, a Sabbath day’s walk from the city. . . . They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.” (Acts 1:12-14)
Passage: Luke 11:1-13
When cell phones first became available on the commercial market, they were mainly seen in the hands of people with high incomes. Today, with the technology having exponentially increased and the price being lower, it would be hard to find anyone in America who does not have a cell phone. That phone allows people to be connected to others or to information, no matter how useless, constantly throughout the day.
I don’t know if we are really better off with that connection, but I do know a connection that is available to every believer that will make a difference in our lives and in the world. It is the connection we have to God in prayer. The Apostle Peter and the early church understood the power and privilege of the prayer connection we have in Christ. They prayed consistently and they prayed confidently, knowing that there is power in the name of Jesus. They set a great example for us to pray. God isn’t interested in flowery, eloquent prayers. He wants you to talk to Him like you connect with a friend. He’s always ready to listen and speak back to you, so keep your connection open and be rock solid in prayer.
