  Passage: Psalm 125:1-5

When Jesus was in the desert preparing Himself for the work He was about to do, Satan came and tempted Him to do that work in another way. If Jesus has yielded to the temptations, His humanity would have been marred by sin and He would have been unable to offer Himself as the perfect sacrifice for our sin. He did not yield. Instead, He stood firm on God’s Word, affirmed His commitment to follow God’s ways for His life and He was faithful in worship. In the vernacular of war, He won that battle. When Satan left Him, angels came and helped Him. This is important for you to see.
As a believer, you are not alone. The Holy Spirit dwells within you. He is there at every encounter you have when the strategies of the devil come to tempt you to go the way of the world instead of the way of God’s Word. God wants you to experience His best and He knows how to make life work. You will find His ways in the Word and as you follow His ways, you will find peace, purpose, fulfillment, and joy. God will use you to bring glory to Christ and to be a blessing to others. He will provide and He will take care of you. You can deal with temptation like Jesus because “greater is He that is in you, that he who is in the world.” (John 4:4) Be an overcomer in Christ!
