      Passage: Matthew 16:15-16

Jesus is the indisputable Word of God and the Promised Messiah. The world thinks it doesn’t acknowledge Him when they substitute “Happy Holidays” for “Merry Christmas”, but holidays are holy days. The holiness of Christmas is that God the Son became a human, born of a virgin and placed in a manger in Bethlehem. He came to pay the penalty of sin for everyone in the world, but that gift is only manifest for a person when he or she believes in Jesus, confesses Him as Lord and receives Him as Savior. (John 1:12)
When Jesus was put on trial over 33 after He came into this world, the High Priest Caiaphas (who was not related to Aaron by blood, therefore was illegitimate as the High Priest), charged Jesus to declare if He was the Christ. Jesus emphatically said “Yes”. (Matthew 26:62-66) Caiaphas was so enraged at the answer, He tore the High Priestly robe he was wearing, which was a sign that the office of High Priest on earth was eliminated forever, because Jesus alone is our eternal High Priest. (Lev. 21:10) That Jesus is the Christ, who gave Himself for us is indisputable, but many, like Caiaphas, refuse to accept Him. Christmas is all about Jesus and when you worship Him, you understand Christmas as it is fully meant to be. Merry Christmas!
