Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, ‘Go south to the road – the desert road – that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.’ So he started out , and on his way he met an Ethiopian eunuch, an important official in charge of all the treasury of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians. This man had gone to Jerusalem to worship. . .” (Acts 18:26-27)
  Passage: Psalm 119:105-112

When you are driving at night, you can’t see far ahead into the distance. All you can see is the portion of the road that is within the reach of the headlights. That’s all you need. If you will follow the directions you have and keep traveling as far as you can see at any time, you will reach your destination.
Psalm 119:105-106 says, ‘Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. I have taken an oath and confirmed it, that I will follow your righteous laws.’ God doesn’t reveal everything he wants for you to do at the outset of your Christian walk. He gives you the goal, which is to “glorify Him and work with Him to build His Kingdom”, and then he gives you directions and light to go one step at a time. Philip had been led to Samaria and then a messenger from God told him to go to the desert. I’m sure he didn’t understand why at the time, but God had a plan to bring Philip in contact with a man of great influence, who would be used to take the gospel back to Ethiopia. God’s direction to Philip was clear and Philip was used in a special way, because he said “Yes”. Follow his example and say yes to the Lord.
