Live in Connection with God’s People

Pray – (1/2 minute)

Read – (2 1/2 minutes) – “From Attalia they sailed back to Antioch, where they had been committed to the grace of God for the work they had now completed. On arriving there, they gathered the church together and reported all that God had done through them and how He had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles. And they stayed there a long time with the disciples.” (Acts 14:26-28)
     Passage: Hebrews 10:23-25

You were not intended to do life in Christ alone. Just as God designed the human family, He designed the church to be a spiritual family. The Universal Church is God’s family consisting of every believer on earth. Wherever you go in this world, if you meet someone who is a believer, you have met a brother or sister in Christ. A local church is a gathering of a smaller group of God’s eternal family who live in communities where they can gather regularly together. A local church is not to be a place where you go to. It is to be a family that you belong with.
Paul didn’t simply lead people to Christ on his missionary journeys. He established local churches in the cities where he went. He then prayed for those churches. He encouraged those churches with letters and with visits if the Lord allowed. He kept his connection with the church in Antioch, and he wanted all believers to have a connection with a local church in their cities. Thank God for your church family and stay faithful for Him.
